The problem
Shopify's metafields are great for single values: a fabric, a care instruction, a release date. Its rich text field handles headings, bold text, lists and links. But a size chart is a grid: sizes across the top, measurements down the side, sometimes a merged cell or a header row. None of Shopify's field types can store that.
So merchants work around it. They paste a screenshot of a chart (unreadable on a phone, invisible to search engines), hard-code one chart into the theme (and every product shows the same one), or install a separate size chart app that keeps the data somewhere the Shopify admin can't see.
What we built
Cartsella Studio adds a Table field type. You fill it in like a spreadsheet, right on the product:
- Add rows and columns, merge cells, and add a header row.
- Start from a ready-made Size chart or Specifications template, or a blank table.
- Add headings, colours, alignment, links, images and YouTube videos.
How it shows on your store
You place the field on your product template once. From then on, every product shows its own table, styled to look clean in whatever theme you use. Edit a chart and the product page changes straight away. It's real text, too, so shoppers can read it on a phone and search engines can index it.
Why it matters
Shoppers who can't work out their size either guess, which leads to returns, or leave. A clear, product-specific chart answers the question where it's asked. Spec tables do the same for electronics, furniture and anything else bought on measurements.
Table fields, size charts and the field editor are on every plan, including the free trial.
