Clones and syncs copy a whole store in one direction: from your live store into staging, or once into an expansion store. But day to day, the need is often smaller. A size chart you filled in for one product should be on the same product in your EU store. A new product you set up in staging should reach another store your plan covers. Send to another store does exactly that, one record at a time.
What you can send
- Filled fields of a product, collection, page, blog, blog post or the store itself. Pick the fields you want, from one to all of them. If the other store doesn't have a field's definition yet, it's created there.
- A whole product: title, description, options, variants with their prices, SKUs and barcodes, images, SEO, tags and filled fields. If the other store doesn't have the product, tick Create the product if it isn't there.
Records are matched by handle, so the same product in two stores is found without you looking it up. Inventory quantities, collections and sales channels stay as each store has them.
See it before you send it
Before anything is written, the dialog shows each field you picked: empty in the other store, different there, already the same, or pointing at something the other store doesn't have. Values already filled in the other store are only replaced if you tick Also replace values already filled there.
Built to never break the other store
- It only adds. Sending never deletes anything and never replaces an existing product. If the other store already has a product with that handle, it gets only the fields.
- Drafts in a live store. A product sent to a live store arrives as a draft. Nothing reaches your customers until you review it and publish it.
- The other store says yes first. Only stores your plan covers can receive, and only after an Owner of that store turns on receiving there (your own staging store, which clones already write to, doesn't need it). A live store must also have allowed editing in Metafields.
- Both stores keep a record. Every change is in the history of the store that sent it and of the store that received it.
Where to find it
Open Metafields in Cartsella Studio and click Send to another store on any list, or in the header of the product, collection or page you're looking at. Choose the store, the record and the fields, check the preview, and send. Send to another store is part of every plan, and you can try it during the free trial.
Stop copying fields from one store to another by hand.
