How pairing two stores works

Before any product moves, two stores have to agree they belong together. Here's what a pairing code actually confirms, and why Cartsella Studio never connects stores on one side's word alone.

Why one-sided pairing isn't enough

If pairing only needed a store ID or a URL, anyone who guessed or found that detail could point their own store at yours and start pulling data. Cartsella Studio pairs stores through a code generated on one side and entered on the other, and both sides confirm the relationship before anything clones.

What each side declares

Install the app on your live store and generate a pairing code. On the second store, install the app and enter that code. That store's owner then says what it is: a staging store that will also receive syncs, or an expansion store that gets copies only, for a new market or a second brand. That choice decides how the pair behaves afterwards — nothing silently defaults to one or the other.

What pairing doesn't do

Pairing two stores doesn't move anything by itself. It only sets up the relationship: which store is read from, which one receives, and what kind of pair it is. The first clone, and every sync after it, is a separate step you choose to run.

One pair, one plan slot

A live store and the one store it pairs with — staging or expansion — counts as one store pair against your plan's limit. Pay once and share a plan across several pairs from inside the app.
