Some brands sell to a new region from their existing store with Shopify Markets. Others want a separate store: its own language and currency, its own team, its own catalog decisions. If you're in the second group, the hard part isn't the decision. It's rebuilding hundreds of products, collections and pages by hand.
Start the new store from a copy
Cartsella Studio copies your live store into another live store, an expansion store:
- Install the app on your live store and on the new store.
- On the new store, enter your live store's pairing code and choose "An expansion store". Both sides confirm; nothing connects on one store's word.
- Clone. Products and variants, collections, metafields, content entries, pages, blogs, menus, redirects and more arrive in the new store.
Your live store is only read. Customers and orders are never copied. And nothing syncs afterwards: each store goes its own way, and you can clone again whenever you want a fresh copy.
Then make it local
- Settings: the store settings check lists what differs (currency, taxes, languages, markets) and where to change it.
- Apps: "Apps to install" lists the apps your theme and subscriptions rely on.
- Products: translate, reprice and remove what you won't sell there. It's your store now.
Run the day with links
On Duo and up, prepare 11.11 campaign links in the new store: bestseller bundles with the discount built in, landing at checkout. Set them to start on November 11 and end on the 12th, and they switch themselves on and off.
Finished a product in one store? Send it to the other
After launch, when you add a product to one store, you can send it, or just its filled fields, to your other store on the same plan. In a live store it arrives as a draft, and nothing that's already there is changed.
A store and its expansion store are one pair. Opening several markets? Duo covers two pairs, Pro three and Agency five, and one plan can be shared with your other pairs so you pay once.
